SRDaily Episode 313: Know You Are Loved, Standing Firm, and Big Events Ahead

Phrase of the Day: “Know You Are Loved.”

Seriously—know it, feel it, believe it.

For years, we’ve all heard variations of “I love you” and “Know that I love you.” But it wasn’t until I watched the show Bodies a few years ago that a new phrasing truly stuck with me: “Know you are loved.” Something about the way it was said resonated deeply. Maybe it was because, at the time, I didn’t feel as loved as I do now. Maybe it was the simplicity yet power of the statement. Either way, it left a lasting impact. So much so that if I ever have another child, I’d consider using it as inspiration for their name.

Love is not just something to be received—it’s something to know in your bones. If you needed this reminder today, take it in: You are loved.

Need to Know News: The Tragic Story of Telbo Rackins

A story that’s been circulating recently is the heartbreaking case of Telbo Rackins, a Black man who was shot and killed by his white girlfriend. I first heard about this a few days ago and finally took the time to read more about him this morning. There’s a lot to unpack here, and it’s another example of why we have to stay informed and engaged with the world around us.

We took some time on today’s episode to go through an article on his case, discussing the details, reactions, and implications. The justice system has repeatedly shown disparities in how it handles situations like this—so it’s up to us to pay attention, speak up, and demand accountability.

Tip of the Day: It’s Okay to Be Against What Others Are For

Not everything that’s popular or widely accepted is something you have to agree with. And that’s perfectly okay.

In today’s world, it can feel like you have to go along with what everyone else is doing, especially when the pressure is coming from people you know and love. But here’s the truth: Disagreement does not mean hate, bigotry, or intolerance. You can hold a different perspective without attacking or dismissing others.

Stand firm in your beliefs. Be confident in your convictions. It’s okay to question, challenge, and reject things that don’t align with your values—no explanation needed.

Build of the Day: Big Events on the Horizon

Putting together events is no small feat, but when the purpose is strong, the work is worth it. In exactly two weeks, I have two major events lined up, and I couldn’t be more excited.

  • March 14th (My 41st Birthday!): I’ll be giving a talk titled “Let Me Talk My Sh*t.” This will be a deep dive into my experiences, perspectives, and the way I see the world. It’s going to be raw, real, and, most importantly, mine.

  • March 15th: The very next day, I’m hosting an official business shower and launch at Trends Cannabis Dispensary in NYC. This event is not just about me—it’s about elevation, community, and celebration. And the fact that the venue is Black-owned makes it even more special.

Now, I know what some might be thinking—“A cannabis dispensary?” But let me be clear: There will be no smoking or anything like that at either event. These gatherings are about connection, elevation, and purpose. Expect good people, good vibes, and a damn good reason to celebrate.

Mark your calendars—March 14th and 15th are going to be unforgettable.

Final Thought: Today’s episode was a reminder of what truly matters—knowing we are loved, staying informed, standing firm in our beliefs, and building something meaningful. Let’s keep that energy going.

Until next time, stay golden. ✊🏾
