I was beyond excited earlier today when my brother and neighbor Y? hit me up asking if I was home. Although I only met this brother 2 years ago, he has become one of my favorite humans to be around andtalk with. Word. We live only a few blocks from each, but haven't seen each other in months. We both live fully engaged lives and so as much as I would love to spend more time with him, I understand that that's not possible right now.
But today was good. He came by the crib. I broke my breathing fast with him. We had room temperature spring water and with lemon. Of course we gave thanks first. After that, I shared the rest of the papaya I had with him. We enjoyed some really good and necessary conversation too. In essence, we were feeding our minds, our hearts, our spirits, and our bodies simultaneously. It was great. As it always is.
We then walked to his crib where he burned some incense that came straight from India. He initially put some music on through his laptop, but eventually he cut that off and played the guitar. Man. He's so damn good!
I really enjoyed my time with my brother today. I am proud of the work he's doing, of the man he is, and I am grateful to consider him a brother.
